Hello
Hello! I’m Manika Grover, an architect who believes that every wall, window, and corner has a story to tell. I am also an occasional dreamer who loves seeing ideas take shape in the world.
From New Delhi to British Columbia, I’ve followed a path of curiosity, learning, and a little bit of chaos along the way. Whether I’m sketching a new space or chasing after my two kids, I try to find joy, inspiration, and a touch of magic in everything I create.
My Story
I grew up in New Delhi, surrounded by ancient architecture—buildings that seemed to breathe with stories, textures, and centuries of history. I was endlessly fascinated by the way light danced across carved stone, how courtyards framed moments of life, and how every structure had a personality of its own. Those early experiences sparked my love for design long before I even knew the word “architecture.”
After becoming an architect in India, life took me across the world to Vancouver. Here, I dove into further studies, collaborated with amazing teams, and navigated the journey to earn my architectural status in Canada. Each step reinforced what I had always believed: architecture is not just about buildings, but about shaping experiences, emotions, and memories.
Today, I call Surrey home, where my days are a lively mix of design meetings, school pickups, site visits, and creative bursts whenever inspiration strikes—a ray of sunlight, a shadow on a wall, or a perfectly framed view can spark an entire concept. At the heart of this whirlwind is motherhood, which has taught me patience, improvisation, and the joy of small victories—lessons I bring to my work as much as to my home life.
What continues to drive me is the quiet magic of architecture: how a space can comfort, energize, or spark curiosity without uttering a word. Whether I’m sketching a fresh idea, refining the tiniest detail, or imagining how someone will feel in a room, I strive to create spaces that are thoughtful, alive, and deeply human—places that tell stories, hold memories, and maybe even inspire a little wonder along the way.
